"After reading this book I’ll never be able to look at a nerdy guy without blushing. My Dream Man by Marie Solka sizzles.” ~ author Deborah Brown

"I've always thought smart guys were hot. This book proves it. I also loved the relationship advice Sam's elderly patient gave her. She was a riot. My Dream Man is definitely a fun read." - review from Amazon

My Dream is the story of Samantha, who is a registered nurse. She chose to work in the field rather than in hospitals. So part of her schedule is visiting her assigned clients daily. One of the highlights of her dull, boring life is when she meets Greg Varo, a son of one of her patients.

Greg is a very mysterious man which probably what drew him to Samantha. She was a goner the day she saw him at his patient’s house, wearing his pink bathrobe. She should have been slighted with the sight, unfortunately, the image he projected increased his manliness in her eyes. Since then, he had become the hot man that starred in her hot dreams every night. He was even the first one to give him the first O.

Greg Varo is a scientist, a nanotechnologist specifically. He’s a genius and a geek who was so much addicted to work. He is so grateful that he has a talent that can help people. He has a penchant for producing miniscule robots. He is also a published scientist who is always invited to talk to international conferences. His geekiness probably added to his charm. He’s is awkward but he knows how to use it to his advantage. And while he may be seen as an individual who doesn’t have a care in the world unless it’s about science, he seems to have developed tender feelings towards Samantha.

When he finally got the courage to ask her out, it was like everything was orchestrated. Their relationship gradually deepened until they were head over heels in love with each other. There were no hitches. If ever they got into arguments, they settle it immediately. But what if Greg is failed to disclose a part of his life to Samantha? Will Sam be able to forgive and accept him?

My Dream Man is such an engaging book to read. I love the characters especially the hot nerd, Greg. He isn’t the anti-social kind of nerd. In fact, he’s pretty much adept on communicating to other people. He knows when to switch off his scientist brain and use his ‘ordinary brain’. The only downside to this guy is when he failed to tell Sam about his past which is a very important for him and Sam to move forward.

Samantha is a very caring person. She loves her job. It’s really her passion. It even shows with how her patients attach to her. She had always been wary of the opposite sex and she doesn’t deal with them easily. She finds it hard to connect to men. She had set this standard in her head that is so ideal that no man can seem to ever meet it. So she cannot believe her luck when she met Greg who resembles her dream man.

There were just some parts that were not cleared by the end. The first time the psychic appeared, I thought, her visions will play an important role in the story. It’s just disappointing because from the predictions she’d had only one came true. Although, I think the author did this on purpose. It basically tells the readers that futures cannot be predicted. People make their own future based on the choices they made. Furthermore, the story between Samantha’s parents weren’t resolved. I have a feeling that her father was really cheating on her mom.

As a whole though, the book was good. I practically swooned over Greg. Sexy nerds are rare in the novels I’ve read. My Dream Man won’t be the last book by Marie Solka I’ll be reading.
