Title: 42 Hours (Time for Love #3)
Author: Bethany Lopez
Age Group: NA/Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Eight years ago, Scott and Gaby shared one very special night. Not wanting to ruin their friendship, they didn't take things further...but neither of them has forgotten.

When Scott’s friends stage an intervention to make him realize that his fiancé, Victoria, is all wrong for him, he takes time to evaluate his life. He’s earned a big promotion and just bought his dream car, but those things are just superficial. The one time he was truly happy, was with Gaby.

Gaby is in a good place in her life. She loves her job, has the best friends and family a girl could ask for, and is dating a sweet and sexy guy, but she’s never stopped thinking about that night with Scott.

Eager to find happiness again, Scott makes a plan to win Gaby’s heart during a weekend getaway, but she doesn’t want to be his rebound girl. Will 42 hours be enough to convince Gaby that it's finally their time for love?

I love this series! I guess it’s cool because the gang got to have their own relationship and what’s more fun is that they were able to found their match within their clique. Cal and Shelly married each other. TJ and Sasha fell for each other, but the remaining unmarried friends, have given up the idea of a relationship between each other.

The group were intrigued when they learned about the secret that Scott and Gaby had vowed not to share with their friends. Unbeknownst to everyone, they lost their virginity to each other on the night of their senior prom, but because they were going in different directions and they both don’t like the idea of long distance relationship, they agreed to keep the memory of the night to each other. In my point of view, Scott and Gaby were both afraid of losing the friendship and of hurting each other.

Scott is a smart, strong, and a very independent man. He’s next to Sasha when it comes to riches. He belongs to an affluent family who appears to be perfect in front of the other people but behind the perfection they project to the public eye are the lies. His parents still live together though they don’t act like a couple anymore. His father was continuously eaten by his mother’s tenacity. He always felt envious when he saw how Cal’s family are whenever they gather together. Cal’s parents had acted more as his parents than his own. Whatever affection his family failed to give him, he found it with Cal’s family and with their friends.

Gaby is a baker at Bee Sweet. She’s a very kind woman who is always the voice of calmness among the group. She’s like a sunshine who is always surrounded with light. Her parents were separated but she doesn’t let it affect her outlook in life. She loves her family so much. She doesn’t take her relationship lightly, that’s why she only had two serious boyfriends in her notch. She wants to have a family someday. She wants to be a stay-at-home mom that’s why she had been saving most of what she earns in the bakery.

Gaby had a crush on Scott long before something happened between them. Both of them gave importance to their friendship. Secretly, they had been hoping that someday, fate would bring them together again but every time they saw each other, they’re involve in a relationship. And now that Scott is engaged to be married to Victoria, Gaby has finally seen the light. She can’t hold on to her feelings for him anymore so she decided that it’s time to date other men.

However, Scott, has finally realized that Victoria won’t ever be the right woman for him. He wants more out of life. Lately, he’s been a grumpy asshole and he certainly doesn’t want to become like his father. He wants to have kids someday. He wants a child-friendly environment for his future kids. He wants to marry a woman he loves. And although, he liked Victoria when they started dating, he can’t say the same now. And recently, there’s this woman who kept on running in his mind. How will he convinced Gaby to take a chance on him, when she already decided to move on with Brock?

He exactly has 42 hours to convince her to give him a chance. So he organized a group getaway to their company’s lake house resort.

Will they finally find their own happily ever after? Or is Gaby really firm on her decision to give Brock a chance?

42 Hours is not only a romance story. It also delivers its readers the value of family. Scott may not have the parents, but he found his true family through Cal’s. He considers Cal, TJ, and Craig his brothers. He was not thoroughly affected with his childhood upbringing. I love how Cal’s parents took him as their own and gave him pieces of advices when his parents couldn’t.

A Time For Love Series is absolutely worth your time to read, but if you plan to read 42 Hours, you better start with the first book, 8 Weeks, to fully appreciate the story of the gang.
